J and I spent last night, on the deck, with some wine...and eachother. We talked about our baby Lyla. I love my toddler Lyla so much...but we miss our baby Lyla too.

She takes it in the tub with her and talks to it...like it's me? "c'mon mommy...bubbles"
I thought it was a phase, but it's been a few weeks now and she really thinks this thing looks like me.

Party #2 and #3
yes. That's right. Lyla is celebrating her birthday at 3 different parties.
The Elmo party is the birthday party at our house for friends and family who won't be with us on her ACTUAL birthday at...the beach :) eeeeek! Going to Fun land and riding rides for the first time for her 2nd birthday.
So.
Party #1 Elmo party at our house
Party #2 Daycare party
Party #3 is beach party.
Party 2 and 3 will be Cars themed. Because, well? Lyla just LOVES Cars. she is borderline obsessed, I believe I talked about this before when we were "forced" to purchase the black car bed .. you know .. so everything matched in her room :) I also covered up the little tike logo with corvette stickers that I "pimped up" just a bit.
This may or may not be a sign that I have a HUGE problem. My name is Amanda, I am mother to Lyla and addicted to color coordinating, EVERYTHING.

So. This weekend we bought the little party bag favors for her daycare birthday party for all her little friends. and I got toothpick car things to stick in donuts to take to schoolw ith her that day. I figure the teachers will just love and adore me becuase I'm not sending in cupcakes. I know how much of a mess one little 2 year old can make with one cupcake....the thought of 10 toddlers eating 10 cupcakes each is enough to send me to the hills runing and having nightmares for, probably, the rest of my life.
So. Favors, cars donuts...what else could there be? THIS little piece of flipping heaven that is the most awesome thing ... ever. Having a girl who is obsessed with the Disney Cars movie is tough. There isn't a lot of "girly" stuff. No pj's, no shirts, no hair pieces....definatley no dresses...right? WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG....WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG!

And I really nearly passed out from the intoxicating cuteness of this freaking girly cars dress. hopefully it's here in time :)

Since you started using sentences and communicating better your tantrums are few and far between. If you don't take your time and communicate it's melt down central but if we can get your attention and get you to talk things settle quickly. MUCH better than the last few months!

2 pees in a potty....
Yep. That's right. You peed in the potty last night and this morning.
Yesterday morning you came to me in the bathroom and said "lyla's potty.poop" I said yes that is Lyla's potty and you poop on it. You repeated and so did I (it's a new game of yours; repeat everything 15 million times). You suddenly turn and leave the bathroom and go to your bedroom where you grunt a (rather nice sized) poop out in your dipaer.
DUH mama. You were trying to tell me you had to poop. Does it get any easier than that?
So last night before bath I asked if you had to pee on the potty and you said "o.k. sure" so on you went and I went to get m&ms as your reward for sitting on it. Upon my return you were trying to get up and I saw some pee trickling, when I looked it was on the floor and front of the potty. NO WAY, I thought. YES way.
I looked into the potty and there sat the second most beautiful thing these eyes have ever seen. PEE. right there int he potty! PEE. I am 99.9% sure the entire neighborhood heard me cheering on your said pee in the potty. You were so proud. I was so proud. I called daddy immediately and told him I would save it for him to look at when he got home. He said "I'm on my way".
Who knew? 5 or so years ago when I met your daddy that we would be so excited over 3 drops off pee in a potty.
This morning daddy took you on a walk (that sounds pretty bad) let me rephrase. Daddy took Brutus on a walk and you went along. You were telling the entire nieghborhood (again) that you peed on the potty. So? naturally I try again this morning.
This time it took longer. MUCH longer. I didn't force you (by god you aren't even 2 yet) but i let you lead. 4 books, 2 m&ms and 20 minutes later there were 2 puddles of pee in the potty. You were so proud adn I was so proud.
