Y3W: Still in shock

and just dwelling on this every.single.day. Every.single. hour.

Where did the time go?

1 year old checkup & stats

Height: 31.26"
Weight: 24lb 11oz - WOW
Head: 18.75"

The doctor says you are just perfect. All your developmental milestones are being reached and we go see him again in October.

You did well at the doctor, you were quite the busy body. The shots, well....not so much and if I can schedule these apopintments so that your daddy has to take you, I will. That is horrible holding you while you scream in pain and not a thing I can do about it. Honestly, looking back on it, it took less than 30 seconds but while I was standing there it felt more like 20 - 30 minutes. I absoultely hate it. You ran no fever. You were happy and chipper all night and all morning. What a relief after the experience we had the first time you got vaccines.
So all is well and I hear your vocabulary will only increase over the next few months, you'll start walking and exploring and basically doing everything in your power to give mama and dada a heartattack. But that's o.k. we love you no matter what, all the time, more and more everyday.

Honestly we just sit there adn watch you and laugh. I mean really really laugh. last night you gave me the hiccups I laughed so hard. And the harder i laughed the more you performed. I love it.

Love ya baby girl!

Wordless Wednesdays....

{camera found}

But my absolute favorite photo...my family.

We're Baaaaacccckkkkkkk

And still recovering. My camera is temporarily missing {I think it's at the beach} so no photos.

It was a much needed week off from reality and we all had a blast! Lyla is busy pulling up on everything and anything she possibly can. I am busy having a heart attack everytime she does.  This morning she let go of the door with one hand and reach for my leg and took a step....progress.

While we were away she now says nona, pap, mama, dada, pants for Brutus, says ball. Knows what and where her baloon is and attempts to say it. She is mimicing alot of the things we say in syllables. We are working on exing out the bottle and we were doing good until Saturday/Sunday.....we had a relapse. No pressure. It's not like she'll be walking to the bus stop with a bottle. and hey, lets be real....we ALL have our bottles :)

Shellfish was eaten and no allergy to it! wahooooo....me and my baby can munch on crabs together.

The birthday party was a huge success and I think everyone had a great time. Pictures to come...at some point.

The beach was awesome. We were on the beach one day and on the boat the other 3 days. Went to Funland on Wednesday night and Lyla was amazed by all the noise, lights and motion. She went on the merry go round for the first time and loved every minute of it. She was talking and screaming in joy. It was awesome. Me and J won her some stuffed animals from some games.

Lyla ate some hibachi for her first time on Friday and totally pigged out. I think it may be her most favorite food ever.

Saturday J and I headed to the Orioles vs. Indians game in Baltimore and had a blast. I had never been to a major league game before, pretty amazing.

now it's Monday, I am back at work and missing my baby like crazy! BUT????

4 more weeks and we are back on another week vacation tot he beach! I can do this!

1 year old

At this exact moment last year {down to the minute} one year ago today, you were born. You were brought into this world, took your very first amazing breath. I held you in my arms. I cried. My heart has never felt so full. Even thinking about that moment 1 year later takes my breath away, makes my knees weak, makes me cry.

After all the preparation, anticipation, excitement and fear. You were finally here. A miracle right here in my arms. So tiny. So dependent on me. I was responsible for every little detail about you and I was so overwhelmed. I was so happy. I was so nervous. And I was so ecstatic to learn everything.

Well through MANY MANY MANY sleepless nights. Gas pains. Constipation. Eating. Teething. Vaccinations. Colds. Crying. Screaming. Separation anxiety. Eczema. Nannies. And every other battle we shared for the last 365 days. I got everything I had anticipated and more. I sit here and look back on it all and wonder how in the hell we survived. How did we make it? We learned everything we ever could about you. That you like love breakfast sausage and you would eat it at every.single.meal if I let you. That at 5 months you were NOT too young for a sippy cup. too young to introduce table foods {thanks to Aunt Coley}. I learned that you are the type of baby that just needs a few extra minutes to warm up and that you would prefer me be beside you in this process. I learned that you love to sing. That you do things when you are ready and how you want to do them when you are ready. I learned that there is absolutely nothing better in this whole entire world than me or your dada. You taught me so much. I witnessed an angel sleeping, I witnessed an angel jumping in her jumperoo. I witnessed that same angel start crawling and just yesterday pull up on the couch and stand and drink out of that same sippy that I was in such denial about only a few short months ago. When I look at you, my heart melts or shatters into pieces, I can't tell which one. {especially when you call mmmmmmamamamama}

I remember my mom always telling my brother and I that no matter what we will always be her babies. It used to infuriate me. I was NOT a baby. I was a teenager for crying out loud. I knew everything. Well mom {I know you read this} I now know what you feel like. She still doesn't look much different to me than the day she was born. I still consider her my little baby. I still feel like she needs me for everything and it's a constant battle to let her wander around without me, cause well....she needs me. right? Well Lyla. You will always be my baby. and mom {Nona} I will always be your baby.

Words will never be able to describe my love for you Lyla. To want it all for you, yet to want nothing at all. To love you no matter what. To fear everything for you yet to want you to not have a fear in the world

As much as I have learned from you in the last year, I know you have learned from us. I could go on and on about how special you are. About how much I adore you. And about how you are pretty much the coolest thing in the world in your dada and my eyes. But there isn't enough room in all of this interweb thinger. So just know. We love you. More than life its self.

Happy first birthday my little baby girl.

Y3W: Girls Night Out V. 2.0

And we all needed it:

There was no shortage of booze. Of course.

We discussed evolution. Yes. Evolution at GNO v. 2.0 I came up with a brilliant theory that all these kids need tubes because it is part of evolution because of texting, internet, etc. but nobody liked that theory so I got a lot of looks like this:

{if you know Nicole, you know this look}

The waiter was discussed, for a little. He was HOT….no clue if the other ladies agreed with me, but who cares.

A picture of the hotness that is us. {minus Delia because that mama’s boobies were needed at home}

Seriously. My camera is still on fire from all this hotness captured on film…errrr….memory card.

On our way to the shuttle. Aka…Amanda’s car that was strategically parked close to Sammy’s because she knew a ride to the parking lot would be oh so awesome because she herself…is awesomeness.

More of the hotness that is us.

And FYI. Here is Girls Night Out v.1

Yeah. We are getting hotter and hotter by the month. {and reproducing like mad}
