My Beautifuls

One proud papa and his favorite baby girl! Love them so much!

Y3W: My Little Stinker

And that is all I have to say about this

But I have more to say about these:

First house. Pretzels! Something she can actually eat!

The girls and moms and dads. Cousins 6 weeks apart!

My living room turned into a zoo. A skunk, a dog, a cat and two baby mamas.
(yes. that is alcohol in the background, I'm 21 and it's legal)

Then came a pineapple! My bff made that costume BY HAND! She is more of a mom than I'll ever be!!!!!
Do you think the leaves are pointier on a pineapple or are these leaves perfect?

It was rainy and cold but overall a good evening. Lyla has a parade and party at "school" today so she went in her skunk costume, and barely fit in her car seat. I managed to stuff her and skunky in.

And here are two of her art projects she has done at school. I am a graphic designer, I think she may have gotten my artsy fartsyness (yes, that is a word, google it).

Like I keep saying - the pros of daycare far outweigh the cons. How cute are these?

This morning on the way to "school" we were practicing talking. I don't know how it happened or when it happened but she can say about 10-15 words and do 3 animal sounds. I just can't get over it.

She shows me her hair, teeth and head when asked.  I asked her what does Brutus say she pants like a dog. What does a birdy say? tweet tweet tweet. What does a monkey say? Eek Eek Eek. She says: mama, dada, brutus (brrrr), blueberry, cracker, cookie, etc. So then I sat there stumped trying to remember some other tricks she can do and all of a sudden she busts out patty cake, waving and saying Buh Bye. It was like  "DUH mom, get with it...I can do more"

She is amazing. So smart. So artsy. So....perfect! SIGH

Have a great weekend!

The tent is done - and cheeeeeese

The tent is done. Finally.

I returned the green fabric. a. I didn't have enough fabric. I measured one side, forgot to multiple it by two and so I was 2 yards and 6 inches short. So. It was $80 for 2 yards and 3 inches, and it would have been an additional $80. $160 for a tent? I think not. I could have bought her a shed for that much. Luckily JoAnn Fabrics is amazingly understanding with these dumb moments in my life and all is well in the land of tent. Seeeeee!

And this morning.

Me: Lyla say cheese!

Lyla: Cheeeeeessseeeeeeeeeee!

Chhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE!

Me: Melt my heart, go ahead, just melt it!

Y3W: November Fun Events

November is always one of my most favorite months not so much for the weather or season but more for all the days off  I get. Election Day. Veterans' Day and 2 days for Thanksgiving.
First weekend in November, what better of a way to bring in November than a good ol' fashion Pumpkin Chunkin?  Here

November 8th and 11th this mama has off work! Thank you election day and Veterans Day.

That weekend my long time friends 30th birthday is happening. We are taking a "bus" and by bus I mean a party bus with lounge like seats, florencent lights and a bar ON THE BUS. It may or may not have stripper poles on it, which I can assure you Lyla (if you are reading this some day) will NOT, I repeat will not be used. Thankyouverymuch. And on this bus we will be celebrating a great ladies 30th birthday AND exploring 5 wineries on the PA wine trail.

It may or may not look a whole lot like this, on the inside.

The following weekend I go see Breakign Dawn with the group of girls that are obsessed with Robert Patterson. I'm an outcast, totally team Jacob.

Then Thanksgiving!

Then? THEN? I turn 30 December 8th! The big 3 0.

And if you really want to know how I feel

read this.

I need to find out who this girl is. I believe we may be soul mates.

Want to know what I just did at lunch?

Not one of my finer moments in life....but here it goes:

We built Lyla a tee pee tent thing that I found on pinterest. tutorial here. Isn't it cute? I know...

J assembled it. I stood and instructed watched. It is all put together and looks like this!

Action shot. She moves al ot.

She seems to like it, so we decided to proceed with fabric. My only job? besides finding the tutorial and begging J to put it together was to get the fabric. easy schmeezy. My mother in law takes me to the fabric store and so I know the basics of how it operates.

cue me walking into fabric store at lunch

ah ha! that is it! that is the fabric! I love it! Oh no. Amanada...check the price first. ok. not bad The tag said $34.99 10 yds. ::picture me, thinking hard, doing the math in my head:: OMG. Amanda, you are like a freaking bargain shopper! ::pats self on back:: heads up to the cutter lady. She informs me this fabric isn't on sale and I say "oh I know" and continue to brag about what I do for a living and how cool it is, you know, making small talk. Telling her I would love to take a sewing lesson but it doesn't fit into my busy schedule..you know I have a one year old and stuff...yadda yadda yadda. I thank her and head tot he cashier, all while still feeling great about myself and my major bargain hunting skills.

Two ladies are in front of me and say with smiles "oh honey, go ahead...you only have one thing and it won't take as long as us" me: "oh thank you so much, I'm on my lunch break and I built this tent for my daughter...yadda yadda yadda"

Cashier: "that will be $80"

Me: Falls over. Dies. Gets brought back to life. swipes credit card. leaves store. pees pants laughing.

J can't understand why I think we should take this back. He loves it. I love it. But it was $80. Who buys fabric for $80!!!! what do you do with fabric that costs $80!!!!????? It was only 2yds and 6 inches!

So. I guess the tag meant $34.99 a yard. And there was 10 yards in the roll? I still dont' know what the 10 yds meant.

I think we'll keep it. And force Lyla to sit in it every second of every day! I kid. I kid.

The Fabric.

cute....huh?

My husband informed me my blog was boring

I assume he meant because I haven't posted.  **EDIT** he just text me and said "because he wants to know why he doesn't have a lunch everyday." He is so funny. I mean so so funny!

I'm in a funk. A major funk. Things are changing, the weather is getting cold, Lyla's in daycare, his shifts are all over the damn place. Lyla is cutting molars (top two cut, bottom two cutting). Life just isn't anything I thought it would be, I guess. It's harder. Much much harder. but nothing I can't handle, and that J and I can't handle together! (even with that so funny personality of his ::insert sarcasm::)

But I vowed to stay positive and up beat this week. So moving forward and ignoring my real mood. Daycare.

Daycare. Daycare.Daycare.

The first week went wonderful. Lyla, you just hopped right into it like a champ. Smiling and happy. They said you cried a few times throughout the day, but by Friday you went the entire day without crying.  Good news. Right? WRONG.

Monday and Tuesday the following week you weren't in daycare, you were with mama and dada (family issue). We returned you to daycare on Wednesday. You screamed. SCREAMED SCREAMED SCREAMED. I knew I had to leave so I did. The first day you screamed I ran out of there as fast as I could. I couldn't bear it. I'm not strong. It broke my heart to leave you. I cried.  The next day, same thing, only I was ready for it. So I walked to the edge of the door and stood there. Lyla Ann as soon as I was out of sight you were FINE! More than fine. You were sitting, playing with books and perfectly content. Now everyday you do the same thing. You scream, enough to make me feel like the most terrible mother ever and as soon as I pry you off of me and I leave, you stop. Abruptly stop actually. I don't know what to do, I don't know how to make it any easier. People tell me you'll get used to it, but it isn't making it any easier right now! right now? I think you enjoy playing me like a fiddle.

Friday you had your well check up.

32 inches long. 25.7lbs. and your head was just big. 97th%. I don't remember the measurement exactly.

Dr. said everything is fine and wonderful.

You are not walking yet, on your own, but you'll stand and take a step or walk anywhere as long as you are holding on to something, and are in the mood to do it, otherwise you just crawl.

Tonight we are heading the to Paxtang parade, if you make it that late. And Thursday is trick or treat. Friday you have a Halloween party at school! ha ha.

The good far outweighs the bad as far as daycare goes. Just a change. And if you know me, you know I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE change. HATE IT!

So blah blah blibbity blah. that is my mood

How's that for a post, honey! (and no, you still won't get your lunch packed tomorrow)

First day of daycare

*update with words to come*

Fall Family Fun

We went to Ashcombe Farms. We went. We saw. And we had a blast! Yes, this was last weekend. I'm a littel behind (per usual). The new schedule and routine have me a bit off (per usual), which in turn gives me a reason to drink some vino tonight! Happy Friday!

Lyla and her BFF cousin Peyton. These two, together....hysterical!

My fall house

I have never decorated for fall before. Like never. This year, I decided to embrace fall fully and decorate my house for it. After stalking pinterest for a few weeks I stole some ideas and went to town.  Nearly everything was bought for less than $2 each (except the runner and the 2 pumpkin candles on the table).

That's MRS. Bargain shopper to you!

Dining room mantel.

Thanks for the inspiration pinterest. I did the lettering and paper. Frames from Dollar Store.

Table.

I hate my kitchen...so it gets ignored, a lot as far as decorations go.

Living room mantel. (back to back fireplaces)

Living room fireplace.

Front door.

Welcome.

A pumpkin and a ....

FISH! Meet Dwayne.

Then I got a shot of what is behind the camera. Me and the mess.

Lyla had her first day of school yesterday and we had a weekend full of fall festivities, only mama hasn't had the time nor energy to upload them yet. Hopefully tomorrow.

She is doing GREAT! I mean better than great. She loves it and we had not one single tear yesterday or today at drop off. yesterday was a half day and today is her first full day. More to come tomorrow!
