Letters to Lyla

Before I started this blog I had started writting letters to Lyla. So here they are, our journey before my blog.....

Novemer 4th
Peed on a stick (o.k. a few sticks) and they were all positive. I called daddy first at work and told him the good news. He was very excited but sounded nervous as heck too. Then I called Nonnie who went ballistic! She could hardly breath and was probably bouncing off of the walls! That was all we wanted to tell at first, but if we are still the same when you are reading this, you know that we can’t keep our mouths shut and we love to share good news. So within the week EVERYBODY knew 

November 17th
We got to see you on an ultrasound for the very first time. Your heart was beating but just a little flicker is all that we could see. But it was more than enough for me and daddy! Dr. Hank said he wanted to see us back in two more weeks to see you again and make sure you grew o.k.

The only symptoms I had at the time were headaches, tiredness and very sore boobs. The headaches were cured by Dr. Hank when he told me that it was o.k. for me to drink one or two cups of coffee a day. I was so worried about hurting you that I quit drinking coffee and all caffeine the day I found out I was pregnant with you!

November 24th through the 29th
I was sick as a dog. No throwing up but very nauseous. I loved my wine at this point in time (before I got pregnant with you) and drank my fair share of it. So at Thanksgiving I couldn’t eat like a pig or drink like a fish. We went out to Columbus for Thanksgiving to Uncle Bryan and Aunt Stormy’s and we got to see baby Annie who was born just 3 days before on Monday, November 23rd. That was the only good part of Thanksgiving because other than seeing her all I did was sleep and drink water!

December 1st @ 10:00 a.m.
Daddy and I went back to Dr. Hank to see you again hoping that you had grown just the right size! MY were WE amazed at how much you had grown. You can see in these pictures that you had grown from a little dot to a big circle! You had arms and legs and a head now! We fell in love! Doctor Hank told us that everything looked wonderful with you and that we wouldn’t be seeing you again until 18 weeks. We go for blood work and urine and a bunch of tests on December 23rd, I’m hoping to hear your little heartbeat on the Doppler. I’ll write again if anything interesting happens until then. Oh we are going up to NYC this weekend with Gma and Gpa Dulovich. I hope you don’t suck up all my energy, I’m looking forward to walking around and site seeing if you will allow it! Ha ha.

December 23rd @ 10:45 a.m.
Daddy and I got to hear the most amazing things our ears will EVER hear, your little heart beating away inside of my belly. 160 beats per minute today. And you are 11 weeks old! The best Christmas of daddy and I’s life together so far! We have a stocking hung for you.

You have finally stopped making me nauseous 24 hours a day 7 days a week! I am back to my old self again! Full of energy and just as anxious as ever to meet you.

Merry Christmas to you little one!

Our next appointment is on July 21st and nonnie is coming to that one to hear your heartbeat. She is so excited I don’t even know if she can wait that long!!!! Ha ha. She is going nuts, rubbing her hands together all of the time and patiently waiting to buy you things!

On February 1st we get to see you again on an ultrasound! February 1st feels like it is never going to get here!

Read this quote today:
No one will ever understand the strength of my love for you. After all, you are the only one who knows what my heart sounds like from the inside.

My it’s been awhile since I wrote! So much has changed little bugger. I’m feeling wonderful. I’m starting to be able to feel you move! I got to really see you this week and you are a happy healthy little baby _______ we still don’t know what you are! We will find out on 2/22/10 at 3:15, that is as long as you are cooperative.

Here is one of the many pictures I got of you on Monday! Just look how much you have grown!

YEP. That is you little bugger! I also have your entire appointment on a dvd! You were dancing and wiggling the entire time and the technician kept shaking you to try to get you to cooperate. She needed a picture of your heart, but you wouldn’t roll the right way! We are thrilled that you have all the correct body parts and so far it seems you are going to be a happy and healthy baby.

Daddy didn’t’ know that we were going to get such a detailed ultrasound so he skipped out on this appointment and let Nonnie come with me. I have never seen someone so happy! Nonnie and I became best friends with the technician, the resident and the doctor. I don’t think that office will ever be the same. We were ecstatic to say the least!!!!!!!

You are the most precious gift that anybody has ever given me. I love you already little one and I can’t wait to meet you. You are already my world and you have stolen my heart.

You my dear dear baby are a GIRL!!!!!!!! We found out today! You certainly weren’t shy about it! As you can see in your picture below. It took my breath away when they told me. The nurse wasn’t supposed to tell me yet, not until the 22nd – but I worked my magic and daddy was right there with me. His face lit up with a glow that words will never be able to explain. I should have known you were a girl, see your daddy, he loves me very much and he seems to always give me exactly what I want – and I wanted a healthy baby and he gave me that, and if God would have asked me “Amanda what gender baby would you like” I would have had a hard time choosing but a daughter! Oh a daughter is just such a GREAT joy to me. Me and your nonnie are very very close, she is my best friend and I tell her everything, I want to experience the love and bond of a daughter and a mother so bad! I just can’t wait to meet you. We have decided to name you Lyla Ann Dulovich – Ann is your nonnies middle name.

Everyone is very excited to meet you little Lyla! Stay in there, stay active and stay healthy my beautiful baby girl! We love you so much!

Well LONG time no talk, I’m so sorry little one! First of all YOU little missy have been giving me quite a run for my money! You kick me all day long and hardly sleep at all! As much as I love knowing everything is o.k. in there, can’t you ease up a little bit? ha ha. Your nursery is almost done, daddy worked very hard in there to make it just the way I wanted it! I’m sure in a few years you will hate it and want to change it, but the bright colors will be great for your eyes! We registered two Saturday’s ago at Babies R Us and I think we registered for just about everything you will need for your first year of life! If not, we can always go and pick up whatever you will need. I got to see you on an ultrasound again last week, but as I said earlier you are quite a wiggle worm so they didn’t get very many good pictures of you, but you certainly put on quite a show for us when they get you up on that tv in the room! You amaze me each and every day and last night on the couch (we were watching Indian Jones) I had my hand resting on my belly, now I don’t know if it was your hand or your foot but you reached out and I could FEEL either your hand or your foot and it stayed there for a few seconds. It was odd feeling to say the least! I decided that weekly I am going to update the thingss below. I hope one day you will be able to enjoy and appreciate this.

Pregnancy: 24 weeks 5 days
Weight Gain: last weigh in was 4 weeks ago and I had gained 6.6 lbs – get weighed again on Wednesday – UPDATE – just got back from the appointment and I gained another 6lbs! So total weight gain so far was 12lbs

Sleep: It’s not so great. I used to be able to sleep through the night, now I have to wake up to pee at least once to two times and it’s difficult to get back to sleep. Also it’s hard to get to sleep at first too, but that is mostly due to daddy’s SNORING!

Gender: Girl

Name: Lyla Ann Dulovich

Feeling: Anxious to meet you and a very weird calm feeling, like I am right where I am supposed to be, doing what I am supposed to be doing. I also feel like I want a beer and I’m irritated with your father today, but will be over that by tomorrow!

Health: I think that I’m a pretty healthy pregnant girl. A lot of people tell me I look very cute pregnant and that is mostly because I bought a brand new wadrobe, I don’t eat terribly and I am just so happy and feel so blessed to have you growing and happy and healthy inside of me!

Movement: You my dear are a very hyper baby!!!! I can’t tell you how funny you are sometimes. The best is when I feel like I “might” have to go to the bathroom – and then BOOM, WHACK, WAM…you give me a few kicks and I barely make it to the bathroom, and I’m talking #1 and #2!

Belly: Isn’t growing as fast as previous weeks, but I do look like an egg on legs.

Next Appointment: This Wednesday, March 31st just a regular check up, weight, pee and measurement. We find out tomorrow if your little cousin is going to be a little girl or a little boy! We already know it’s a healthy baby! Uncle Jason thinks it’s a girl, in fact he says he KNOWS it’s a girl, but I guess it will just be confirmed tomorrow.

Your daddy was right about you, so maybe it’s a mans instinct.

Lots of love little Lyla loo loo!
