uhhh...WHAT did you just say?????

So on my adventure home for my lunch break today while I was feeding little miss thang...she is eatin' her cookie and out of the clear blue goes "DADA" Too cute right?  Sure, unless you are her over dramatic mother. I yelled "NOOOOOOOOOOO" like they do at the end of some of the moveis when their bff is falling down a cliff...I'm rambling sorry....So I yell no and she looks at me, bottom lip goes out and I realized I hurt her feelings! I recovered quickly by clapping and making a big to do about it (thank god I'm such a good actress). I just have been trying so hard to brainwash her into saying mama first that I was so shocked that dada came out first that I yelled. She recovered quickly and went on with her ramblings and all is good in our house.

BUT - can you believe it??? Dada first??? really? I carried her, didn't drink or do much of anything at all except get fat for 9 long months and she says dada first????  What about my battle wounds (Stretch marks and scar from c-section)???  She doesn't seem to care, she loves her dada. I can't blame her, he is a pretty special guy!!!!

Here is to the best dada in the world (and hubby too) :)

My little goofballs!

What a week!!!!!

I went from having spring fever to snow to rain this week! And that isn't all.

Tuesday we had a one hour delay here at work because of 6 inches of snow we got over night. On this very same day, once I got to work I read a heart wrenching blog about a mother who lost her baby girl, I can't even type that without tearing up. I had to say good bye to my closest friend here at work, he retired, lucky lucky man. And that only brings me to Wednesday.....

Wednesday I think was a decent day, I think.....

Yesterday I entered World War III with the nanny service that we use. SIGH and now she won't answer or return my calls.

Lyla has been teething (top teeth) all week long and screams out in pain in the middle of the night, poor poor little girl.

My hubby works swing shift and isn't home in the evenings to help me this week!

I am ready for this week to be over and I'm ready to spend the next two days with my baby girl! God I love her, and she just makes everything better!

BUT....on a brighter note, look who is attempting to crawl (and it ain't Brutus)

And this face...oh god this face! I just can't handle how darn cute you are lambchop.

ahhhh heck no, this bow is too big.
VERY excited for Sunday - 8 month photos by the totally awesome and spectacular Kate Greenawalt!

So here is to ending this week and hoping that next is better! Cheers!

Wear a bow (flower) for Maddie

I read a blog of a blog yesterday and wanted to post a picture in support of this woman The Staats

Lyla and I are praying for her, her family and baby Maddie.

Y3W: Love This Weather

This weather is AWESOME. It was in the 60's yesterday so we took full advantage of letting Lyla go crazy in her walker, OUTSIDE!!!!!  Gotta love it! We went from skiiing on Tuesday to being outside in t-shirts. I'm not complaining though.

Here I go!

Are you watching me? Yes?...Good.

Action shot, check this out mom!

Yep, that's right, I am oh so cooooool!

Whoop Whoop, Lyla is in the hizzzouse!
Now, let's just keep it warm forever and we will all be happy!

Happy weekend all!

Join the fun!!!!!

We survived.

We more than survived. We went down the hills like pros, we were flying, zooming, having a blast {only on the baby hills} We forgot how fun it was, I chickened out and ended up skiingn instead of boarding. I only boarded for a few years and I was never very good at it so I figured it was safer to ski.

We are hoping to go up again one more time before the season ends! We FINALLY found an activity we BOTH enjoy that doesn't involve eatting or drinking! ha ha.

Lyla: Mommy and Daddy had such a fun date night! You did so good at Nonnie's. Slept through the night, didn't fuss and Nonnie let you roll around naked (you peed ha ha). You are a perfect little angel.

#70 Complete

Goofy goggle man!

On our way to the Olympics perhaps???

In the lodge.

Half of Ski Roundtop.

And of course I have to post some pics of my baby girl!!!!!  Is it me or does she look like she is getting RED hair?????

The flash gets here everytime!!!! She smiling away and then the little orange flash light goes on and she gets distracted!!!!! UGH

Gettin' very nervous

For so many things.

Lyla is sleeping at her Nonnie and Paps tonight...which makes my belly do twists because anytime she isn't with me I"m stressed about her.

J and I are heading up to Roundtop to attempt skiing (him) and snowboarding (me). He hasn't been in over 10 years and I haven't been since 2004, according to the lift ticket I found on my jacket last night.

My pants.....yes....my pants make me nervous, they are VERY tight on me (hello....2004) and I think they are going to rip if I bend over...which I am sure I"ll be bending over alot, falling!!!!! By the way, I must have been built like a brick shit house in 2004, those pants are TINY...of course it's not me getting bigger :)

The lift....I have taken some pretty nasty falls off of a lift before, and that was when I was doing it regularly....

My bones and body just aren't what they used to be, if I were a bettin' woman, which I'm not, but if I were, my bet is this mama ain't moving tommorow...or if I do move, it will be very very very slow! And J....well he will break something, he ALWAYS breaks SOMETHING....damn it...wish I wouldn't have canceled that Aflac plan I had out on him.

Anywho..if this is my last post, enjoy it Lyla....and if I'm still ticking tommorow...well I'll post some pics!

Wish us luck...we are gonna need it!

Happy Valentine's Day....

I'm hoping my legwarmer/onsie outfit will arrive today so I can get a picture of her in a Valentine's Day outfit...but that is besides the point!

She got something for Valentine that she loved....

Present in Pictures -

I saw it and picked it up.....

I ate it and it was delicious....

Cause that's right! I'm a big girl now!!!!!!!

Gerber Puffs...Lyla's first Valentine's Day present and it was probably the second best thing to her feet.

Y3W: We have twins!!!!

Yep, that's right. I didn't even know it!!!!  We had TWINS!!!!!

What a difference a day makes

A whole lot of mama love, some saline spray up the nose, an upgrade (in my opinion) from Tylenol to Advil and Pedialyte and my baby is on her way to recovery!

It's a cold, just a cold (again, never question where you get your dramatic personality) but we lugged you to the doctor! Thank god for great insurance.

So here is the turnaround.

Yesterday - Pic taken at 6:00 a.m.

Today - Pic taken at 10:30

Yes - I am that obsessed with you that I take pictures of you even when you are sick and miserable, but I just love you so much I can't stop myself.

Glad you are feeling better Tank!

(YES - those are TWO teeth on the bottom)

Our streak is over.....

She finally got a cold :( I couldn't leave her today to go to work!

7 months old today....

A day in the life of Lyla at 7 months old

You wake up at 6:00 in the morning (this morning you woke up at 5:00!!!!  YAWN)  For breakfast you eat an egg yolk (hard boiled) 2 bowls of cereal (2 scoops formula, 2 scoops oatmeal) a Stage 2 fruit and then a 4 oz bottle. You go down for a nap around 9 and sleep for a good 2-3 hours and take another 4oz before you go down. When you wake up you are the happiest little baby I have ever seen. Your little fat leg got stuck in your crib on Saturday! Absolutely adorable. You like to turn on your Baby Einstein "TV" when you wake up and roll around. We never know where we are going to find you in that crib of yours.

We play. You roll all around the floor, last week you got up on all 4 for the first time. But mostly you just roll when you want something. You hold your own bottle when I put the handles on it. When I have water in your sippy you drink it with one hand, because you are just way too cool to use two hands. You love water, especially the ice cold kind! Must feel good on your toofers. Yes I said toofers as in plural. You got your second tooth on Friday when I went home for lunch. I swear to god, it was not there in the morning when I left and it was definitely there when I got home for lunch!

For lunch you eat a veggie (I prefer you eat a green one, but you aren't a huge fan of those) sometimes a protein and sometimes a little snack. Yesterday you had avocado for your first time and you really seemed to like it.

Back for more time  to play, you walk in your walker. You can't go too fast, but you certainly can go! You sit up for a very long time without falling over, unless you get overly excited seeing Brutus, then back you go! You do not like falling at all and have a complete dramafest when you do, honestly, it's not that bad! ha ha.

And back down for a nap between 1 and 2. Another 1.5-2 hours.

More playing.....laughing, talking, babbling and mama tries to brainwash you buying repeating 10.5 billion times "mama, mama, mama" you just look at me. I know you are going to say dada first...sigh. You reach for dada a lot, or me if you want me. I "yell" at you and say "look at my belly, see these stretch marks, i carried you for 9 months" You look at me and laugh when I do this (never wonder where you get your dramatica personality from, it's totally me). Your teeth are pretty funny looking and you like to show them off. You also would much rather have just a diaper on and no clothes then anything else. As soon as I take them off of you, you go wild. You had a play date on Friday with Blake and about 5 minutes into it you were down to your diaper, hoping this is not a sign of things to come.

Time for dinner!

You eat a bowl of cereal, a protein - you totally chow down on some mac n cheese and recently mac n cheese with veggies and a fruit! And then a 4 oz. bottle.

Then we start the bed time routine. Bath at 6:00, read you 2 books (when we have time and you are pleasant) and another bottle. Then off to bed with you. most of the time you go in awake and a few minutes later are asleep. But alot of times you doze off while I'm holding you. Some may say that I am lucky you go to bed so early. I think it sucks. I don't get home until 5:00 so I miss you terribly during the week. I only get to see you for 2 hours in the morning and about 2 hours at night.  This makes me sad. I have tried everything to keep you up later, but it don't happen.

You light up my life every day with you smiles, giggles and just YOU! I love you more than words can ever explain! I wish you could stay a baby forever, but I know you won't/can't....so in the meantime I treasure each and every singe moment I have with you!

We love you Tank!

And now for the growth progress.......

Saturday afternoon arm and leg were stuck and you weren't even crying!

Our boys!

We call this your CEO mode.

We went to the farm show to see the animals.

And you really didn't pay much attention.

And that was it!
Happy 7 months baby! We love you so much, and we are truly blessed to have you in our life! Kisses!

In the mood....

Get your minds out of the gutter. I'm in the Valentine's day spirit. I was never big on this holiday, but for some reason all holidays are more fun with a baby!!!!!

I am really loving designing cards of all sorts for her and for my "nephew". I wish I could do this all day everyday, but I guess it will just be for fun.

Valentine's day cards. I can't wait to print them and cut them out this weekend.
A special thanks to Shabby Princess for the free downloands of the letters (Bray) and the sequence (on Lyla's card).

Awwww.......
