The weekend...

thank GOD it is finally here! I can't wait to get home and cuddle and kiss and love on my baby girl for 2 whole days, all day long if I really want to.

Tonight we have no plans. Tommorow is family fun day, hoping to take Lyla to the park for her first time. Sunday is church, breakfast and something else together as a family. Then Monday back to work. I have learned (from last weekend) to not plan too much on my weekends, it's what Lyla wants, when she wants it and how she wants it. But who can say no to a face like THIS? hmmmm???

TRICK OR TREAT

Last night was Trick or Treat in our part of town. It was so much fun and the costumes were great. Nonnie and Pap came over to see you and you made it until about 6:05 (right when the first trick or treater came) you usually doze off for about 30-45 minutes around this time and there was no exception for Trick or Treat night. So while you slept we passed out candy. You woke up, entertained a few people but mostly just watched the trees blow. Then off to bed with you at 7:30. And you were out like a light.

I'm sure next year will be a bit more exciting - but you gotta start somewher! Happy Halloween baby girl.

Good thing...

Good thing I took the few pictures that I did of her and her first pumpkin, we set all of our family pumpkins out last night and we ohhhh'ed and ahhhh'ed over them, woke up this morning to rain and all of the paint washed off of Lyla's pumpkin! So sad!

Also, it's a good thing I got up last night to see what all of Lyla's grunting was about. She had rolled onto her belly and was stuck! ha ha. I rolled my little Tank back over. Dumb belly and head got in the way!

Pumpkin Painting Time!

I have to give myself some major credit here. I think I had a wonderful idea, however it should have stopped at just that...an idea.

I wanted to put Lyla's handprints on a pumpkin - on HER pumpkin. So I did the research, went and bought the non toxic safest paint for a baby and we set up in the garage.

She EATS her hands 24/7 so needless to say she wasn't exactly thrilled about me holding on to her one hand for dear life so she wouldn't eat it while I painted BLACK paint all over it. Then I forced her hand to a big orange rough thing (a pumpkin to us adults) and tried to press. Only problem....she felt something gooey and fun in her hand (the paint) so she wanted to have her fist clentched the entire time so I barely got a handprint, however, I did get a lot of smears! I laughed hysterically until I realized that the BLACK paint wasn't wiping off of her hand! Not with paper towels, not with wipes so I went into complete panic mode that her hand would be stained for life. I hauled butt up to the tub and put her in. The paint came right off and all was well in the Dulovich house again :)

Operation Paint the Pumpkin

Phase 1: Goofy pumpkin hat on and ready for action

Phase 2: Paint the hand

Phase 3: Put the painted hand on the pumpkin

Phase 4: OH SNAP! Her hand is stained black!

Sweet Sweet sleep

Lyla decided it was a wonderful idea to start sleeping again, in fact she slept until 9am yesterday! wahoo.

We did nothign we were supposed to this weekend. Lyla was asleep until 6;00 on Friday and then back to bed at 7:15, so the fall festival was missed (NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT). Saturday we decorated for Halloween and played and cuddled all.day.long. We went out to dinner and that was that. Sunday she slept until 9 and we missed church and the party and the pet blessing! She was a great napper yesterday and I didn't want to drag her out of the house and disturb her!

So tonight we will paint he pumpkins! Tommorow is a parade and Thursday is trick or treat night!

I'm in mommy melt down mode because we are going away for the first time this weekend and leaving Lyla over night. I know I need to do this and it is good for me and Jonathan, but it's only Monday and I'm freaking out about leaving her. Maybe I will have to start Saturday with bloody mary's!

My first Y3Y

I'm usually just a blog stalker - but I like this game, so I want to play along!

The special pumpkin stand!

Our first trip to a pumpkin stand and not just any pumpkin stand, a very special one.
Pumpkin World USA!
Last year we didn't know that I was pregnant and we went here to buy pumpkins for the house. We bought one for Lyla just in case I was pregnant. Turns out that little pumpkin was good luck and gave us our great big cute pumpkin! Can you see her? LOL

This weekend is jam packed with fall family fun. Tonight we are going to Braydon's daycare for a Fall Festival. Tommorow we are painting a pumpkin for Lyla (handprint on a pumpkin) and then raking (blowing) leaves and we are going to do a little photoshoot with her in the leaves! Then football OSU plays at 12:00. Then maybe the park. Sunday is church, then the park (if we dont' make it tommorow) then the pet blessing (getting Brutus' demons out) at church and then a party. Back to work on Monday!!!!!! I'm tired just thinking about my weekend, add no sleeping baby in the mix and you have a very cranky mommy, daddy and Lyla. But we will make it!
Good weekend to all. Pray that Lyla decides its a good idea to sleep again!

Fun times!

Yesterday was a wonderful evening. I came home to a happy awake baby girl! So I enjoyed every.single.minute of it:

First we played on the floor! Full of smiles and things to talk about!

She is teething (confirmed by the pediatrician) so of coures everything goes right into her mouth! But isn't it amazing that she can now find her mouth! Now if we could just get her to find her binky in the dark and put it back in her mouth on her own life would be a little easier! ::Sigh:: my day will come!

Like mother like daughter - just loves checkin herself out in the mirror....or wait? Is she being sneaky and watching the TV in the reflection! My little tank!

Then we went for a walk. Green trees have always amazed her - but she can see color now, and what a perfect time! The leaves were gorgeous and she cooed at them the entire walk. She even smiled and giggled for some neighbors! Just look at that smile!

And by 6:30 - D O N E

Sometimes I wonder...

when it will all click and I"ll be the perfect parent. Then I realized....NEVER.

We went to the dr. today because I felt like I was giving Lyla way too much Tylenol. The doctor said her bottom gums are red and slightly swollen and to keep doing what I'm doing.

I hope I get more comfortable with this whole mom thing soon. I don't know which is more expensive - our child care or my running her to the dr. constantly! UGH.

Put your hands together

and give a nice warm welcome to ME into 2010!

I made the huge step and got an iphone today! wahooo.

Now I can blog and take pictures from anywhere at anytime.

Currently it is sittnig on my desk here at work charging up, but I have this strange feeling it is trying to stare me down. I'm a bit intimidated by it!

Jonathan put Lyla in her excersaucer for a little bit today and as you can see she is LOVIN' it! I'm sad I wasn't there to witness it, but I'm happy I got a picture.

So here she is, growing up way to fast for mama!

because I'm a worked up, over reacting, sleep deprived, new mom

I called the pediatrician today. Why you may ask? hmmm...well Lyla and I slept for a total of about 2 hours last night (not consecutive either) I'm 99% sure she is teething. Yes, maybe a bit early but some teeth can start causing symptoms as early as a month before they come through! So...back to why I had to call the pediatrician about this. Well I made the executive decision to give her children's Tylenol before I left for work this morning. She was screaming out in pain all.night.long. When she woke up after a quick nap this morning she was still screaming out in pain. So the nanny and I found a bump on her bottom right front gum so out with the Tylenol. Lyla is still sleeping, I went into panic mode and thought I drugged my baby girl so I called the pediatrician in a frenzy. "Darowish Assoc. this is Melissa how can I help you " "umm..yes does tylenol cause drowsiness or does the relief from the pain cause drowsiness" and about 15 minutes later I was done with my explination. I bet if they have caller id they flip a coin to see who is going to take my call! She took all the infomation and said I would get a call back. In the mean time here I sat at work in a panic mode that I had put my baby into a medicine induced coma and have scarred her mental development for all eternity. Wondering how bad I screwed up, what the effects are going to be long term...and oh my god what will I tell Jonathan!

The phone rings, it's Mellissa again, "Yes the doctor said it is the relief from the pain of teething or growing that is making her sleep, not the Tylenol, any other questions" me: "oh...no...thanks, ummm...wait...how often can I give her the Tylenol" "every 4 hours mam...have a nice day"

So....this is what happens when you are a worked up, over reacting, sleep deprived, new mom with a bayb who is growing or teething.

I'm not sure my heart can handle much more of this stress!

:)

Back the bus up....

To get filled in on the 3 months I didn't blog for - check out the tabby thingy up top! It's a picture timeline! ENJOY!

Here is the link: 0-3 months

???3months???

REALLY? 3 months ago today we got to meet our baby girl for the very first time. Man, they aren't lying when they say the time FLIES!

This morning she was sitting in her bumbo watching some TV (GASP) yes I let her watch TV! And not cartoons - the TV I watch! HA HA!

Things are getting easier and things are getting more difficult. Our sweet baby has a cold right now so our days are filled with boogers, snot, sneezes and coughs. I wish I could have the cold for her and fight it off with my bad ass immune system, but I can't, so I settle for the boogie sucker and tissues. I make up songs and she laughs but all in all she has come to have a deep unwavering distaste for her boogie sucker. Speaking of the boogie sucker the call to the pediatrician was quite interesting. Me to the nurse: My daughter has a cold and I'm calling to make sure we are doing everything correctly, we are using the boogie sucker alot and taking her temp rectally often. Nurse to me: Boogie sucker? By boogie sucker do you mean nasal syringe? ha ha. I'm sticking to boogie sucker which makes Daddy the boogie monster, which suits him perfectly. I think he secretly loves sucking those things out. Poor little Lyla.

I'm hoping to get her 3 month pictures taken on Monday at portrait innovations. I ordered her the cutest little pumpkin hat from Etsy. OH that damn Etsy! I haven't even been back to work a full two weeks and I'm already addicted to Etsy again! Hello INTERVENTION!

But isn't it just adorable?

Lyla's next doc appointment is on November 9th at 3:00. MORE SHOTS! I hope she handles them much better than last time - flash back 2 month shots - me in the corner with my ears covered crying my eyes out and J (a.k.a boogie monster) holding her hands down so she couldn't grab the shots or squirm too much. Three LONG days later we end up in the hospital. I'm going to start praying now that things go better this time.

Lyla has earned herself the nick name TANK - at her 2 month appointment she weighed in at a whopping 13.5 lbs (90th % in weight) Her length and head measurements are at home but her head was in the 80th% and her length was the 70th%. She is my big healthy baby girl nicknamed Tank for all the right reasons. Here is a most recent pic of her last week sitting in her bumbo for the very first time. (tear tear)

(crappy quality because it was taken on my cellphone)

I love her smile. Every morning I go in to get her out of her crib (whether that be 7 a.m.,6a.m., 4a.m.) I say "Ohhhh good morning my baby girl" and she smiles the biggest most beautiful smile your eyes could ever see! She is the greatest thing in my life and I'm sure if her daddy blogged he would say the same.

I'm back to work (week #2) and daddy and Lyla are adjusting well most days.

Tonight I'm off to a Silpada party hosted by Aunt Coley and this weekend is football all.weekend.long. Saturday night I have a bachlorette party to go to, but I'm not sure how long I will last - I am sooooooooooo out.of.practice it is almost embarassing. Maybe Friday we can have a family dinner out at Gilligans (one of us will enjoy a nice bottle of formula and the other two will enjoy a nice bottle of WINE or BEER) Sunday is football again and Monday I have the day off of work, thank you Mr. Columbus. Maybe some 3 month pictures on monday and then....and then....DRUM ROLL PLEASE....me and the boogie monster (the hubsters) are clocking out of parent duty for 2 whole and complete hours of HAPPY HOUR. Yep....that's right...we are heading downtown to Carlys and Stocks (fav. restaraunts downtown and Mr. Boogie Monsters ex employer :)) for a few drinks, hopefully a few laughs and some nice apps. I can NOT wait. The weekend can't get here soon enough!

(I'm going to try to post on here more now that I'm back at work so check back often)

And the best picture taken to date (with a little photoshop help)

Ain't she a cuteeeeeeeeeee!
