24 Weeks

Pregnancy: 24 Weeks

Weight Gain: 168.4

Sleep: Not too bad. Screw sleep training. NEVER doing that again.

Gender: It's a BOY!

Name: Nolan William

Feeling: Good. I'm grumpy today, but I think that has more to do with my three year old than pregnancy. And the stupid trash man who is messing with my trash here at work, who also just so happens to be getting a little note from me tomorrow morning. ass. (see, I just can't even help my grumpiness today)

Cravings: Wine. Beach. A vacation. The Finger Lakes.

Health: Good. Have to go for my glucose test before my next appointment on the 20th. Weight is good. Cervix is good. Everything is just so...normal...and after my pregnancy with Lyla, I welcome this with open arms.

They had found a blockage or delayed development in Nolan's right kidney back 2 ultrasounds ago. They said it would clear up on it's own most of the time and it was very common in boys...but they wanted to see me back this past Tuesday to check on it. And? it's all back to normal. My little normal Nolan. Thank GOD! I wasn't too worried about it, because they told me not to...but when the doctor told me he was 100% ok I smiled and cried. it was probably mostly ugly for the doctor to see... I mean a big fat pregnant girl smiling and crying with that ugly face thing that women do..yeah...but I didn't care. My Nolan was just perfect, weighing in at a whopping 1lb 14 oz already! So health? yep. We're both all good.

Holy indigestion. I didn't have that with Lyla. Nope. No indigestion with her. But this little sucker is killing me softly and tums have become my BFF. Thinking of switching to Zantac here shortly if the tums consumption gets too much.

Movement: yes. and you can see it from the outside now.

Belly: One of Lyla's friends in daycare asked me "what's under there" while pointing to my belly.

This weekend: Pizza Friday. Wedding Saturday. Church on Sunday.

Next appointment: Ultrasound on 8/20 Next ndlovu appointment on 8/20.

At my next appointment we will find out Nolan's definate c-section date and time! It will also be my last 4 week appointment. Then I'll be going every two weeks. and then once a week. Hello third trimester. I know I keep saying but this pregnancy is just flying by. We have so much to do and so little time (it feels) to do it in.

My belly:

23 Weeks

Pregnancy: 23 Weeks
Weight Gain: 167.8
Sleep: ahhhh. I've quit trying to sleep train Lyla so we are all back to sleeping happily again! wahoo.
Gender: It's a BOY!
Name: Nolan William
Feeling: Great! and hungry. very very hungry.

Cravings: Wine. always.

Health: Good.

Movement: Rockin' and Rollin'

Belly: uh huh. But I think it's slowed. I have been told I look like I swallowed a bubble.

This weekend: Family pictures on Sunday. Organizing and cleaning Saturday.

Next appointment: Ultrasound on 7/23. Next ndlovu appointment on 7/23.

Two nights this week I spent my evening going through all of Lyla's boxes upon boxes of clothing, pulling things out (mostly buckeye) things that can be reused for my Mr. I have 2 friends coming over this weekend to go through the boxes. AFter that they are being shipped down to the beach for Mindy to keep. It feels good getting organized. We have so much to do before Nolan gets here it's ridiculous. We decided to redo Lyla's room along with Nolan's to make her feel special too, plus...she's a big girl now. She chose Tangled theme. Daddy will be painting the bottom of the wall purple (her favorite color). The top will remain pink. And last night she got to pick out her own bedding. We will be upgrading her to a full size bed since her and I co sleep in her room, hopefully this will make more room for my expanding belly and hoefully a bit easier to get inand out of bed after I have the c-section. After that project is done we will need to assemble Nolan's dresser that came in 1.2 million pieces...in tiny boxes...with instructions in Swedish. Then paint his room, set it up ... you nkow all the fun stuff. I'm pretty sure Lyla's nursery was completely done by now and she had a closet full of clothes, poor second child of mine...your room looks like a storage shed and you have 3 outfits and 2 boxes of diapers! HA! I promise to take just as many pictures of you though as I did with Lyla. Well, I promise I will try.

My belly:

Lyla turns 3

Well "baby" girl. You turned 3. 3 years old. Sometimes 3 going on 13.

This year held many many many BIG milestones. You potty trained, soooo easily. Just like that. BOOM. You were going potty. You held your poop for days on end, until you made yourself sick. But we over came that. You tried gymnastics and swimming. You grew. Alot. Your vocabulary is full blown. Complete sentences, full conversations and the imagination and creativity to go with it all. You've made friends.

You, have melted my heart, made me pop new grey hairs, made me laugh till it hurt and made me cry tears of worry, stress and happiness.

You, Lyla. Are truly an amazing, strong willed, big hearted emotional little lady.

What are you up to?
This year you moved to the 2 year old room at daycare. You have grown leaps and bounds. You have become extremely strong willed. You laugh just as hard as you cry and both could happen within seconds of eachother. You LOVE to sing and dance. You know all sorts of songs like ABC's, twinkle twinkle, itsy bitsy spider and every song on the cds we listen to in the car ("my songs"). You even know the pledge of allegiance. You are one smart cookie.

You tell me all about your day most days, mostly true, some made up.

You do NOT sleep. Ok. well you kind of sleep. You go to bed around 8 or 8:30 and you wake around 1-3 in the morning to come get me and make me go back to bed with you. if I get back up so do you. You, apparently, need me to sleep....I don't mind, much, most days, except well...now I"m pregnant and it's getting harder. I know what I have to do, waht I need to do, but I just love that you need me still so much, you barely need me for anything else, so that's my time. hopefully next year I'm typing this and we have come to some sort of arrangement....or I will be a walking zombie between you and your newborn brother Nolan. you still nap 2-3 hours in the afternoon.

Eating is good in comparison to others I know your age. You try most things, when you are in a good mood.

New funny words/phrases:
pretty much everything you say cracks me up, even when it's not supposed to (I really need to work on my mommy serious face)

I love when you say "watch you lookin at?"
I love when you call me your best friend, but most of all I love when you tell me you love me to the moon and back.

Favorite Food:
Tanilla icecream (vanilla)
Flower Yogurt (vanilla yogurt)
fruit snacks (dora, princess or kitty)
You don't know it but your favorite meat is pork. Ham, pork chops, bacon, sausage, if it's pork, you love it. Last weekend you had ribs.

Favorite Drink:
Stillll milk. We have to bribe you to drink juice and water, pft, you only drink that at school.

Favorite Snack:
M&Ms

Behavior:
You are STRONG. Strong willed, strong minded, strong emotions. You like things your way and that's that. It's rare you go a day without crying. In fact, we would probably think SOMETHING was wrong. I tell myself and I know that one day this is goign to be an AWESOME quality to have....just right now its slightly stressful. We wouldn't trade you for the world though...and if there is one positive that comes of it? you teach me patience...that is for sure.

Favorite Toy:
Disney princess, anything. ANY THING! Dress up, baby dolls. We got you a vanity for your birthday - a mini salon - you play with that every.single.day. You love clothes. Dresses that are "long" enough for you. You refuse to wear pants, shorts and most skirts.

You are very excited for your littel brother Nolan to come. You kiss my belly daily and tell him that you love him. I'm sure this won't last once he is here, so I'm enjoying it now while I can. However, because of your stubborn awesome motherly personality we all think you are going to be an amazing big sister and a huge help to me. You usually are. Because you like things your way, you like to do most things on your own.....dressing yourself, picking out your own shoes, getting things for me, helping with the dishes etc. You are really going to be great at big sisterness...even if you don't always enjoy it!

So here is to another year, full of changes, growing, learning, testing and loving. and this year, we are adding a little brother to the mix!

Love you lima bean.

20 Weeks (4 days late)

Pregnancy: 20 Weeks 4 Days
Weight Gain: 167.8
Sleep: Not getting any.
Gender: It's a BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Name: Nolan William
Feeling: Feeling good. Bouts of nausea are here and I have no idea why. Total meat aversion going on right now too. But overall, nothing I can't handle.

Cravings: A glass of white wine!

Health: All is well for now!

Movement: OH yeah. Last week you kicked Lyla in the back when she was laying on me. Lyla's new favorite thing to do? lay on my belly and wait for you to kick...it's kind of awesome for her but I kind of feel bad for you....Brutus likes to do the same thing. When your daddy comes to feel, you stop moving. always. sigh.

Belly: yep. I got one.

This weekend: Lets see. Last Wednesday we found out you are a BOY! shocking. yes...very shocking. Thursday was spent packing. Friday we traveled out to Youngstown to go to a wedding Saturday in Cleveland and Sunday we drove home. Back to work today. Now you see why I missed your 20 weekend entry.

Next appointment: Ultrasounds on 7/9 and 7/23. Next ndlovu appointment on 7/23.

No belly pic this week. Sorry.

Finding out......

As I wrote, Wednesday we went for your ultrasound. Everything measured great. They estimate you at about 16 ounces, which is one pound. After measuring everythign they needed to (you know, the unimportant stuff) they put your bits up on the screen.

Nurse to me: "ok...take a guess"
Me: "well that looks NOTHING like Lyla's did. so I'm saying boy? boy. BOY! boy?
Nurse to me and daddy: "this is one leg here and this is the other"
Me to daddy: "well...what do YOU think"
Daddy: "that definately doesn't look like Lyla's .... so boy? boy. boy? boy?
Nurse: "here's his penis"

Both me and daddy: "OH MY GOD..IT'S a BOY???!!!! A BOY!!!!! A BOY???? ahhhh a boy.

Daddy's face? nothing like it was with Lyla. Just a big old HUGE fat grin from ear to ear. He didn't even smile that big on our wedding day. a boy.

Me? Shock. Relief. Shock. Tears. thoughts of you running, climbing, of  a little mamas boy. of hospital trips and baseball games. of my little sweet precious baby boy.

Still almost a week later it hasn't sunk in. I thought you were a boy for a few weeks. I did. then I changed. I don't know why this is taking so long to settle in. But  I'm getting used to it. I always wanted a little boy. A mamas boy. Lyla's already drifting to daddy more and more every day. I get her when shes tired, sick or hungry....but a boy? They say they always come running to mommy!

Lyla? it's a boy. I'm gonna have a brother. does anybody have any goldfish? lets leave.

I can't wait to meet you little man. none of us can. see you in 19 weeks!

We told Nona and pap and grandma and grandpa with Lyla handing them blue flowers with a balloon that says its a boy. Of course Nona and grandma screamed and hooted and hollared. I am thinking all men have the same reaction to "It's a boy" a big huge goofy grin and a congrats mom and dad.

Until week 21...

Love ya little man Nolan!

Tomorrow...

Tomorrow...we find out if you are a little boy or a little girl.

This excitement is like nothing I have ever felt.

I was excited to find out with Lyla. SO very excited, but this? this is just so different. I know how wonderful and awesome it is to have a child now. I know how much I can possibly love you and I know how much you are going to be loved by everyone. I know how fast it all goes.

I can not believe we are half way to meeting you. It feels like I JUST found out we were blessed with you. And when I tell you you were some what of a miracle baby...trust me, you really were!!!!!

I'm trying to enjoy every second of this, of you inside me. But it's going so fast, too fast. I want time to stop, or at least slow down.

My first baby isn't such a baby anymore (3 in a week and a half) and I feel like I was just pregnant with her.

This is the last day of this excitement, of THIS anticipation...of this FEELING.

Such big dreams and hopes of more princess dresses, of a sisterly bond, the meaning of your name being shared with everyone. Different dreams of footballs and buckeyes and your older sister picking on you.

Tomorrow we will find out.

I'm so excited!

Are you an Evalyn or a Jaxson.

I love you either way my little mystery bean!
