6 Months....

6 months old today and what are you up to?!

You eat food 3 times a day. You eat a fruit (you love fruit) and cereal for breakfast. usually 2 bowls cereal (2 scoops cereal, 2 scoops formula and about 4oz. of water) then I give you a 4 oz bottle, which you started to hold yourself just 2 days ago, sometimes, when you feel like it! For lunch you eat a couple bites of veggies but have a bottle because for some reason you aren't really into eatting at that time. Then at dinner we give you 1-2 bowls of cereal, fruit, a veggie and some formula or water in a sippy cup.

You are in LOVE with your jumperoo. I think if I let you you would bounce in there all day and all night.

We think you are teething because there is drool everywhere and all the time. You aren't too fussy about it though and no I am not scared to give you Tylenol. You prefer the grape.

You started sleeping through the night, FINALLY! This week you started going to bed at 6:30, which I absolutely HATE. I don't get to see you all day long and then you go to bed so early. I love our cuddle time before you go to bed though. You just stare at me and drink your bottle and fall asleep. I have to bath you every night because your skin gets so dry. So I load the tub up with baby oil and let you soak. You are starting to play with the little toys I have for you in there. You are no longer in your baby tub as of this week. You are in the big girl tub and you go nuts now that you can completely stretch out and splash and kick! After your bath I have to lather you up with Aquafor and put your pj's on immediately, or again, your skin gets extremely dry. Then we read a book and give you a bottle. We say our prayers every night. Then you go into your crib and cuddle (sometimes talk) to Bubbles and drift off to sleep. I now know what an angel looks like because I watch you sleep sometimes.

You started napping regularly now, in your crib, at about the same time everyday. Between 10:00 and 11:00 you go down for a nap and sleep until about 1:00 or 1:30. You get up and have lunch (you aren't a big fan of lunch) and then play with Jenica (your nanny) or daddy if he is home with you. Then back down for a nap around 4:00 and you always wake up as soon as I get home. Daddy says its because you can smell me :)

Yesterday was the first time you reached for me when I got home. You woke up and daddy got you out of your crib. I was walking down the hall and you saw me, gave me a huge smile that absolutely melts my heart and reached out to me. It was the most amazing moment! I could just cry thinking about it while I type this and I hope I never ever forget it.

You are sitting up. You need a little support but can also do it on your own for a few seconds. You love yoru feet and your plastic links. Your hands have cleared up (you used to bite them until they had scabs on them) because you pick things up and put them in your mouth now. You wiggle all around your crib and we never know where we are goign to find you when we check on you.

You have been getting up about 5:30 in the morning and we bring you into bed with us and you just go limp. You are so relaxed and you usually touch daddy and me and coo away. Alot of times you and I go back to sleep in the morning just cuddling. You smell so good and you are so soft and warm....most morning I just hate getting out of bed becasue I know that means I have to be away from you.

Our mornings are pretty fun though. I sit you in your bumbo on the bathroom sink and you watch me do my make up and hair (you are amazed by this and just stare and stare and stare) then I take you out and sit you on the bed and we pick out what I am going to wear and then we go have breakfast and then we PLAY!

You are by far the most amazing thing that has ever happened to us. I can't imagine loving anybody or anything as much as I love you. Everyday you melt my heart and everyday you do something new. I feel like it is happening so fast and I don't want to forget or miss a thing. So long as I have you everything just seems to be o.k. in life.

Now. A look back on how much you have grown.

2010 in pictures

I'm not a huge fan of writing so this came from another blogger I follow, Jenni from the Blog. Click on the link, follow her blog and help to make her one of the top bloggers.
Our year in pictures.
Lets see…
JANUARY
2010 started with my father in law turning 60. We celebrated our Christmas out in Ohio on New Years Eve weekend. Happy 60th!

And I was pregnant so hubby was practicing up on his baby techniques…that's my BIL with my little niece (who is now 1) in between them. I'm sure after seeing this picture you can see why I was so nervous…but he sure did turn out to be a good daddy (arguably the best da da ever)

FEBRUARY
At 17 weeks and 3 days we found out we were having a girl and we decided her name would be Lyla.

I started to get my baby bump!

And it was the worst winter I can remember!!!!!

MARCH
We started on the nursery. I designed my dreams and as usual J made them come true. **NOTICE** It's March and there is STILL snow on the ground!

APRIL
And so summer 2010 begins…

MAY
It was our 1 year Anniversary

Another trip to the beach for Memorial Day and our last one baby free

My dad (from now on known as Pap) retired…FINALLY!!!! And his full time job now is being a great pap to his girls.
This was his retirement party at the beach.

And of course we had my baby shower! Where we got just about everything we needed for Lyla!

JUNE

And his retirement party here in Harrisburg! SURPRISE PAP – we got you GOOOOOD!

J enjoyed some cocktails…..

And only a few weeks later I went into labor early!!!!! Contractions, Dilating and the medicine to stop my labor wasn't working. This fake smile is all I could do for the camera. I was texting an SOS to J that things might be going down faster than we thought. But the next day they gave me morphine, knocked me out for about 24 hours and when I woke up my labor had stopped. So now I just had to sit around, sweating my guts out and waiting for July 7th!

It was 90 degrees in MAY…so it only got worse (in the 100's in June and July)

JULY

Lyla is born. 8lbs 1oz and 21.5 inches long. Born 7/7/10 at 8:29 a.m.

AUGUST
One month later

September

Happy 40th anniversary to Nonnie and Pap!

And mommy goes back to work L
L
L And Lyla keeps getting bigger!

October

A Pumpkin Patch, Trick or Treat and all things fall!

NOVEMBER

Lyla started on baby cereal, tried sweet potatoes and grew so much!

And we got our first family of 3 portrait done!

And your 4 month photos done

DECEMBER
We tried out Santa

And we tried him out again

And then one more time just to be sure…..and we won!

Lyla also got bapitized.

So come on 2011…bring it on again! We are ready for it. We had good times, hard times and unforgettable times. We have made our marriage stronger, our love wiser and are more appreciative of family, friends and life in general. Life has never been this good and I hope I feel like this forever! To another wonderful year of learning, growing and "surviving".

Third times a charm!:

Lyla’s first Christmas (3 days long)

Christmas has come and gone once again, my house was filled with holiday decorations, joy and love. I always love Christmas but this Christmas was just so different. More excitement, more hustle and bustle, I even felt more love and appreciation then before. The actual pure joy of Christmas has returned to our house.
Lyla may have been too young to understand, but I think she felt it. Or that could have been her feeling all of her 1.5 billion new toys she got! It was absolutely ridiculous. We had to rearrange our living room upstairs and downstairs just to make enough room.
This Christmas we spent Christmas Eve here in Harrisburg and then traveled out to Ohio on Christmas morning. It was awesome. It was like 3 full days of Christmas – kind of like the movie Groundhog day.
Here is our big Christmas tree that I just absolutely LOVED! It was the best Christmas tree ever! And look at all of those presents under the tree!!!! Only 3 of them were for Lyla!

And our stockings were hung by the chimney!!!!!
Lyla's first stocking stuffers – Sing A Ma Jig, vampire binky (pic to come later)

Lyla's first Christmas presents: Follow me Fred, Dr. Seuss starter books, Good Night Moon book

We did our Christmas on Christmas Eve at our house after church…..Lyla fell asleep for her nap so we started with our mimosa's while we waited for her to get up…..DELICIOUS GOODNESS

She finally woke up and got one of her presents!

And off to Nonnie and Pap's we went!
I am 99.9% sure that toys r us exploded in my parents (nonnie and pap's living room) I have NO clue why I didn't get pictures of all of the toys! But there was enough to fill the trunk of the trailblazer!

Then off to Aunt Jetta's annual Christmas Eve party where Lyla got presents from her cousin Braydon….and Bray tried to take some of his back! I have no clue why her pants are riding so high…poor girl.

After all of this action and bouncing all around we headed home and all three of us crashed!!!!!

We all woke up at 6 a.m. and made the 4 hour drive out to Ohio to see g-ma and g-pa and all of the gang out there. Lyla did amazing in the car and we arrived safely. We also had a white Christmas out there. I love getting together with everyone on that side because there are lots of kids and it just felt like Christmas all over again from the night before. Another toys r us explosion…..and a nice snap shot of a generation of the girls…I got to see my SIL and BIL and all was happy and wonderful.
Great Grandma Manley, G-ma Dulovich, Annie Loo and Lyla Poo
and of course the generation pics of the boys (minus great grandpa)

And just a quick shot of the two loves of my life. They made my Christmas more than I could have ever dreamed and I love them both more than anything in this entire world. They are my everything!

Happy 5 month birthday baby!

5 months ago today we were in the hospital and you were about 5.5 hours old! My how the time just flies by. I feel like I just had you a week ago, but that just ain't so....look how big you are.

Right now you are babbling up a storm, especially while chewing on your hands. You won't leave them alone and I think even if I spent $1.5 million on the coolest toy ever, nothing would even compare to your hands. You just stare at them, opening and closing, opening and closing them in total awe.

You absolutely despise green beans and you are quickly becoming a less than happy baby with your peas. But we keep going, on to sweet potatos tomorrow maybe?! mmmmmm....Brutus is loving that you are eating, he gets all the spray droppings from your rasberries you just love to blow with food in your mouth.
You are becoming such a big girl so fast and I try not to miss a minute of any of it!

I love you forever and ever and always,

me

P.S. Sorry for all the goofy outfits Lyla, but you are just so darn cute in them! :)

Scarred for life

That's right, we did it. We stood in line for 45 minutes at Bass Pro Shop and waited for our FREE photo with Santa, yes, I am THAT cheap.

As SOON as we got up to all the decorations she started, then it got louder and Louder and LOUder and LOUDER! The picture was snapped, I grabbed my baby and out the door we went, however the store is HUGE so she screamed the entire way out. I never had so many people stare at me before...and trailing behind me was my hubby holding the diaper bag! ha ha.

Hopefully, our next few encounters with the big man go a little bit better.
