The weekend...

thank GOD it is finally here! I can't wait to get home and cuddle and kiss and love on my baby girl for 2 whole days, all day long if I really want to.

Tonight we have no plans. Tommorow is family fun day, hoping to take Lyla to the park for her first time. Sunday is church, breakfast and something else together as a family. Then Monday back to work. I have learned (from last weekend) to not plan too much on my weekends, it's what Lyla wants, when she wants it and how she wants it. But who can say no to a face like THIS? hmmmm???

TRICK OR TREAT

Last night was Trick or Treat in our part of town. It was so much fun and the costumes were great. Nonnie and Pap came over to see you and you made it until about 6:05 (right when the first trick or treater came) you usually doze off for about 30-45 minutes around this time and there was no exception for Trick or Treat night. So while you slept we passed out candy. You woke up, entertained a few people but mostly just watched the trees blow. Then off to bed with you at 7:30. And you were out like a light.

I'm sure next year will be a bit more exciting - but you gotta start somewher! Happy Halloween baby girl.

Good thing...

Good thing I took the few pictures that I did of her and her first pumpkin, we set all of our family pumpkins out last night and we ohhhh'ed and ahhhh'ed over them, woke up this morning to rain and all of the paint washed off of Lyla's pumpkin! So sad!

Also, it's a good thing I got up last night to see what all of Lyla's grunting was about. She had rolled onto her belly and was stuck! ha ha. I rolled my little Tank back over. Dumb belly and head got in the way!

Pumpkin Painting Time!

I have to give myself some major credit here. I think I had a wonderful idea, however it should have stopped at just that...an idea.

I wanted to put Lyla's handprints on a pumpkin - on HER pumpkin. So I did the research, went and bought the non toxic safest paint for a baby and we set up in the garage.

She EATS her hands 24/7 so needless to say she wasn't exactly thrilled about me holding on to her one hand for dear life so she wouldn't eat it while I painted BLACK paint all over it. Then I forced her hand to a big orange rough thing (a pumpkin to us adults) and tried to press. Only problem....she felt something gooey and fun in her hand (the paint) so she wanted to have her fist clentched the entire time so I barely got a handprint, however, I did get a lot of smears! I laughed hysterically until I realized that the BLACK paint wasn't wiping off of her hand! Not with paper towels, not with wipes so I went into complete panic mode that her hand would be stained for life. I hauled butt up to the tub and put her in. The paint came right off and all was well in the Dulovich house again :)

Operation Paint the Pumpkin

Phase 1: Goofy pumpkin hat on and ready for action

Phase 2: Paint the hand

Phase 3: Put the painted hand on the pumpkin

Phase 4: OH SNAP! Her hand is stained black!

Sweet Sweet sleep

Lyla decided it was a wonderful idea to start sleeping again, in fact she slept until 9am yesterday! wahoo.

We did nothign we were supposed to this weekend. Lyla was asleep until 6;00 on Friday and then back to bed at 7:15, so the fall festival was missed (NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT). Saturday we decorated for Halloween and played and cuddled all.day.long. We went out to dinner and that was that. Sunday she slept until 9 and we missed church and the party and the pet blessing! She was a great napper yesterday and I didn't want to drag her out of the house and disturb her!

So tonight we will paint he pumpkins! Tommorow is a parade and Thursday is trick or treat night!

I'm in mommy melt down mode because we are going away for the first time this weekend and leaving Lyla over night. I know I need to do this and it is good for me and Jonathan, but it's only Monday and I'm freaking out about leaving her. Maybe I will have to start Saturday with bloody mary's!

My first Y3Y

I'm usually just a blog stalker - but I like this game, so I want to play along!

The special pumpkin stand!

Our first trip to a pumpkin stand and not just any pumpkin stand, a very special one.
Pumpkin World USA!
Last year we didn't know that I was pregnant and we went here to buy pumpkins for the house. We bought one for Lyla just in case I was pregnant. Turns out that little pumpkin was good luck and gave us our great big cute pumpkin! Can you see her? LOL

This weekend is jam packed with fall family fun. Tonight we are going to Braydon's daycare for a Fall Festival. Tommorow we are painting a pumpkin for Lyla (handprint on a pumpkin) and then raking (blowing) leaves and we are going to do a little photoshoot with her in the leaves! Then football OSU plays at 12:00. Then maybe the park. Sunday is church, then the park (if we dont' make it tommorow) then the pet blessing (getting Brutus' demons out) at church and then a party. Back to work on Monday!!!!!! I'm tired just thinking about my weekend, add no sleeping baby in the mix and you have a very cranky mommy, daddy and Lyla. But we will make it!
Good weekend to all. Pray that Lyla decides its a good idea to sleep again!

Fun times!

Yesterday was a wonderful evening. I came home to a happy awake baby girl! So I enjoyed every.single.minute of it:

First we played on the floor! Full of smiles and things to talk about!

She is teething (confirmed by the pediatrician) so of coures everything goes right into her mouth! But isn't it amazing that she can now find her mouth! Now if we could just get her to find her binky in the dark and put it back in her mouth on her own life would be a little easier! ::Sigh:: my day will come!

Like mother like daughter - just loves checkin herself out in the mirror....or wait? Is she being sneaky and watching the TV in the reflection! My little tank!

Then we went for a walk. Green trees have always amazed her - but she can see color now, and what a perfect time! The leaves were gorgeous and she cooed at them the entire walk. She even smiled and giggled for some neighbors! Just look at that smile!
